TPOB Clipper Review — Is The Pissed Off Barber Legit?
TPOB has gone from a barber-built upstart to a full pro brand in just a few seasons. Here's how the cordless clipper and trimmer actually perform side-by-side with the legacy brands.
Build and balance
The chassis is light and well-balanced — closer in feel to a Magic Clip than to an FX870. The lever swings clean and the magnetic taper blade holds calibration well between cleans.
Motor and torque
The digital brushless motor runs smooth and quiet, with enough torque for blended fades and bulk removal on medium-density hair. On very coarse hair, the FX870 still has the edge.
Fade trimmer
The TPOB fade trimmer's DLC-coated zero-gapped blade holds a clean line-up on par with the FX787 — and at a noticeably lower price point.
Verdict
TPOB is legit. Not a hype brand — a real pro tool that competes head-to-head with the established cordless lineup, with the added advantage of a more accessible price.
